Graduation Fashion Week 2016 - about.

6/07/2016

Hello , welcome on my blog, today I want to tell you about Graduate Fashion Week 2016 that I' ve attended yesterday. What is it? For who? And what can you see there?

This years Graduate Fashion Week 2016 is from the 5th to 8th June which is taking place at Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. This specific Fashion Week is a competition for the best students who graduated from fashion colleges all over the country. The selected students are showcasing their six final pieces of their designs on catwalks, which juries from the fashion industry and many other guests were invited. There also many people from fashion industry such as ASOS, M & S and others are attending the event who might be interested in giving future opportunities.

Important information is  that Graduate Fashion Week is open to the public and anyone who is interested and loves fashion can buy tickets for the show and the catwalks who want to see.
The Graduate Fashion Week is interesting to attend is not only because the designers are not well known, but also because of the new designer’s creations are without market pressure completely.
It is up to an individual young designer what kind of material they use or how they express their design. For example, a Wool jumper project that I’ve posted on my Snapchat created by Rosanna Hepburn from North Brook college. The wool jumper was made from pure wool and has a weight of 5 kg and is so heavy that it cannot really be worn, but like I said before it is about the creativity of the young designer not only the practicality of the item.
I attended on the second day on 6th of June and will attend the final day of the competition  on 8th of June.

In the GFW16, you can see how the schools works to prepare students for their design career and their design technical skills and knowledge such as what kind of materials are available for them to explore. If you wish, you could also speak with individual graduates about their designs and projects in details while you watch the exhibition of their works.
I love the beauty of creations, expressing their designs without market’s requirements. The talents and creativity of the most students are very impressive.

See you on my next post when I can show you the catwalk and the final of graduate fashion week 2016 and also show you who it is that the jury have chosen from all the great students,  from what I have already seen I can say it's not going to be an easy choice.
